Two kinds of harvesting

I pay a visit to my good friend, Donnie Beggs, as he harvests watermelons on his farm. And a few bees are doing their own harvesting around the patch.

My friend Donnie Beggs, owner of Beggs Melon Company in Blodgett, Missouri, is in full gear harvesting 200 acres of pure summer enjoyment.

What a beautiful sight!!!

It doesn't get much better than this folks!

Support our farmers...buy a watermelon and relax!

The honeybees work themselves to death literally in about three weeks this time of year. Amazing!

Public enemy 1. Please take precautions this time of year and check yourself often for ticks! It could save your life or at least a life time of misery. Please don't take any chances, get medical help if bitten and a rash develops or you get flu-like symptoms.

I'm staying vigilant culling unwanted melons in the patch.

These babies camouflage themselves so well that some make it to 20+ pounds before they are captured and eliminated!
