Into the ground they go

The seedlings are ready to go into the sandy loam soil and take on the elements. Also, my own personal rainbow shows up besides the patch. An omen of good fortunes to come?

Our tiny melon plants have now made it into the sandy loam soil where they will face Mother Nature's wrath in the hostile bootheel region of southeast Missouri!

Extra plants stand ready should the first transplants succumb to the harsh conditions...

The Melonman stands aided by his new cane from www.brazos-walking-sticks.com. Despite all the hardships I've endured, once my hands meet the soil an inner strength awakens to drive me onward for another season. The old saying you hear growing up that if you've got your health, you've got everything becomes ingrained in the spirit of those who are physically challenged.

A beautiful rainbow appeared out my front door as the center pivot irrigation quenches the thirst of a rapidly maturing wheat crop.

It moves across the field, bringing needed water for the crops to grow.

Now if I could just find that pot of gold??????????
