Giant Watermelons of Hope, Arkansas

Another season is in the books!

The MelonMan went out and harvested his two largest melons still growing on the vines. And came up with some BIG 'uns!

John Mark Lane from Delight Arkansas had a great season growing a 211 pound giant that was 39" long X 55 7/16" circumference. Way to grow John!

My neighbors Gene Roslen and Bob Laseter used a Kubota tractor to help lift our giants this season. Now that's lifting made easy!

Ted Snell and friends in Memphis, Tennessee were proud of our 152 pound giant that we donated. Thanks for all your help Ted!

Lyman Dame and his mother, owners of Dame's Seed and Feed store in Sikeston, Missouri, helped us with an official weight on our final two giants this season with their certified platform scale.

It takes some very strong friends to lift and carry our best melons to the scale for an official weight. I've never seen so much sweat before
handling two watermelons....

It's official! Our last two melons weighed in at 215 pounds and 228 pounds!!!! The 215 pounder had a 190 pound melon on the same plant. The
228 pound melon is our second largest grown to date. The 215 was 36 1/2" long X 56 1/4 " circumference. The 228 was 38 1/2" long X 58 1/4"
circumference. Not to bad!!!

Our two biggest melons are on display at Boomland in Charleston, Missouri. You have to see it to believe it! Wat-a-melon!
