Craaaawdads or crayfish?

The MelonMan gets help from Kyle with his shade tables and discovers that crawdads like melons too.

I received some excellent help recently building shade tables for the melons. Kyle Glastetter hammered every nail and did a fine job of construction. He loves playing with Nitro and has so much energy that I get tired just watching. If only we had this same amount of energy at this stage of the game?????? (sigh)

Nitro alerted me one morning to a creature that was definitely out of its element! There was an invasion of giant crawdads in the yard and melon patch!

A nearby neighbor is digging a pond and I suspect this is where they came from? Here in the south we call them craaaawdads but just north over the mason Dixon line they're called crayfish. Hum????

Tina caught me tending the patch soon after the shade tables had been strategically placed.

We continue to be busy as a ? during the dog day's of summer....... :-)
