A surprise for Bill Carson

The Melonman and Tina surprise Bill on his birthday.

Our friend, Bill Carson, was shocked when his wife Susan pulled off a surprise birthday party in his honor. We enjoyed our visit with the greatest watermelon grower in the world. Bill's Guinness Book Record of 262 pounds grown in 1990 still rules!

Our friend, Daryl Burnthorn, in Louisiana proudly shows us a melon approaching 200 pounds this early in the season. Daryl is a fierce competitor and has several melons that will be a force to be reckoned with. Keep on growin' BIG DOG!


Nitro is now six months old and is keeping pace with the giant melons. He mauled several of the culls. What have I done???
