Visitors and Butterflies

Visitors come to see the patch and a melon dies on the vine.

Our friend and neighbor, Rita Laseter, has an incredible garden and plants flowers to attract butterflies.

In these three pictures, you can see the process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

Mother Nature is interesting and beautiful. We have learned alot from both Her and Rita.

We had fun showing off our giants to The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau the other day. Pictured left to right are Monte Boston, Lin Jones, Terri, Clark Bower, Debbie Frank and Brenda Newbern. It was a pleasure to meet such an energetic group of people. "HerniaMan" returns sadly from the fields with a 122 pound giant that was harvested after the vine mysteriously died. Hopefully, we can determine the cause of this premature death so we may avoid the same problem in future seasons. Stay tuned for the Big Ones!
